News Digest: Serbian opposition parties wrote to international election observers

The 23rd “Serbia against Violence” protest was held in Belgrade. On Saturday, 7 October, another protest was organized at which opposition politicians spoke. The citizens marched to the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), where the demands for fair reporting were repeated, and the protest ended in front of the Serbian Presidency. Five Serbian opposition parties wrote to international election observers. They sent a joint letter to all relevant international factors for monitoring the elections in Serbia, requesting to declare the election conditions ahead of the upcoming ones and whether they will be considered unfree and undemocratic if implemented without the ODHIR report’s recommendations. (N1 Belgrade, 8 October 2023)

The next “Serbia against Violence” protest will be held in Belgrade and Kragujevac. Opposition MPs will address the citizens in Belgrade on Saturday, October 14. The protest route is to the Government of Serbia and then to the Public Prosecutor’s Office. (Nova.rs (Serbian), 11 October 2023)
