BELGRADE – The list submitted by the coalition “National Rally”, composed of right-wing pro-Russian Zavetnici and Dveri, was proclaimed today by the Republic Electoral Commission. The list will be the fourth on the ballot.

Serbian Party Zavetnici (“The Oath-keepers”), led by Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski and Serbian Movement Dveri (the archaic word for doors with religious connotations), led by Boško Obradović, announced a pre-election coalition in early October, after about a year of political cooperation. The parties were in negotiations with the rest of the right-wing opposition for an even larger coalition, but these negotiations failed.

Đurđević Stamenkovski is in the first place on the electoral list, followed by Obradović.

Last year, Dveri won 3.92% of the votes running on a list with smaller partners, while Zavetnici achieved almost the same result, 3.82%, running on its own. Both parties cleared the 3% threshold.

The parties are in favour of rejecting this year’s agreement between Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels and Ohrid. They also advocate stronger ties between Serbia and Russia, rejecting any sanctions on Russia. Their last year’s success in crossing the electoral threshold was attributed in part to the war in Ukraine, which broke out weeks earlier, and the calls for Serbia to impose sanctions on Russia.

“The majority of Serbian citizens are against joining the EU and NATO, against sanctions on Russia, against the Franco-German ultimatum on the recognition of the fake state of Kosovo, for every kind of support for the Republika Srpska and all Serbs in the region and dispersion. We will be their voice in these elections and we guarantee that there are no calculations and trading of national and state interests”, Obradović stated yesterday on the occasion of the submission of the electoral list.

“Now all those who are against the current government, but not for a return to the time of the former regime, have someone to vote for”, he added.
